************************************* * * * DB/C Newsletter * * December 1998 * * * ************************************* News and Comments We hope everybody in the DB/C community had a successful 1998. And we wish you all a Happy New Year and success in the year ahead. There is no article this month - holiday vacation always takes more time and energy than is expected. There are a couple of newsworthy developments at Subject, Wills & Company. First, we just moved into our expanded office space at our existing location. We now occupy about 15,000 square feet. It certainly is nice not being cramped for space as we have been for the last few months. More important for the you is the progress we are making toward completing our plans for the DB/C software family. DB/C JX 2.0 is well into beta testing. We expect to release it in January. DB/C FS 2.1 and DB/C DX 10.0 will begin beta testing in January. DB/C FS 2.1 will be released by February 1 and we hope to release DB/C DX 10.0 soon thereafter. The release of DB/C DX 10.0 will signify the completion of our plans for remaking traditional DB/C into a family of products that give you a variety of choices for how to move toward the future. Whether your needs include support for GUI programs, SQL, Java or the Internet, we feel that the new DB/C family of software can meet your needs. As always, the new features in the DB/C family have been chosen based your input. We would like to hear from you about what your needs for the future may be. All suggestions are welcome. Again, Happy New Year! don.wills@swc.com ***************************************************************************** DB/C Class Schedule Class: DB/C DX and JX Language Fundamentals Date: February 1999 (tentative) Location: Oak Brook, Illinois For information, contact Judi Tamkevic at: voice 630.572.0240 email dbc@swc.com ***************************************************************************** Subscribing to the DB/C Newsletter If you don't already have the DB/C Newsletter delivered to your email address and would like to have it emailed to you when it is produced, just send an email message to 'request@swc.com' and put the line 'subscribe dbcnews' in the body of the email message (omit the ' characters).
